Ladies AGM
Will take place on Saturday, January 16th at 7pm in the Lavey Inn. All players and parents of underage players must attend.
The Club would like to thank everyone who took part in the Christmas swim for Lil Jake. Presentation of cheque will take place as soon as all sponsor cards are in.
GAA
The Cavan senior team had their second win in the Dr McKenna Cup when they defeated UUJ by 3-14 to 0-10 in Kingspan Breffni Park on Saturday evening. Chris Conroy again featured this time as a substitute. They play their final group match against Monaghan on Wednesday, January 13th in Kingspan Breffni Park at 8pm. At this stage they appear certain to make the semi-finals of the competition.

Christmas Swim for Lil Jake
Thanks to the Lavey Ladies Club for organising the event at Lavey Lake and Laragh Scouts for providing the hot refreshments. Over €700 has been raised so far. Presentation of cheque will take place as soon as all sponsor cards are in.
Choir Practice
Will take place on Wednesday, January 20th in Lower at 6.30pm.
Pre-Confirmation Meeting
A Confirmation programme meeting with volunteers will take place on Wednesday, January 20th at 7.30pm in Fr. Kevin Fay's house.

The Club is looking for volunteers for the roles of Health and Wellness Officer and Irish Language and Cultural Officer. Anyone who is interested should contact Martin Smith at 086-3838752.

This organisation provides the opportunity for social activities and personal development through participation in club committees and events, competitions, local community, performing arts, travel, sport and agriculture, depending upon your preference. Macra is an organisation for 17 - 35 year olds. Erne Macra is the club based in Crosskeys/Lavey area and the next meeting will be in Crosskeys Resource Centre Thursday, February 11th at 8.30pm. Breakfast Morning Fundraiser
The hall committee in conjunction with Foroige and the Astra Turf committee are organising a fundraiser and a remembrance morning to celebrate the 1916 rising with a number of activities taking place in the hall. The event will be on Sunday, March 13th and will run from 11am to 1pm. If anyone has any memorabilia that they would like included for display please contact any member of the hall committee. This is a donation event and your support will be greatly appreciated.

Launch of the Lavey to Lourdes cycle which is a fundraiser for the Kilmore Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes takes place on Friday, March 11th at 9.30pm in The Lavey Inn. Music by Paul Corrigan and guests. Refreshments will be served on the night plus there will be a draw for a number of spot prizes. Admission €10. Your support would be appreciated.

The senior team defeated Cuchullains by 1-18 to 3-8 in the Spring League at New Inn on Sunday last. They play another game in this competition on St. Patrick's Day when they play Crosserlough in Kilnaleck at 11am. They are scheduled to play Cuchullains in the first round of the ACFL on Sunday, March 20th at New Inn at 2pm. However this may change as a result of the Cavan U21 team playing Tyrone in the Ulster U21 championship quarter-final in Kingspan Breffni Park on Wednesday, March 16th at 8pm.
The minor team lost a close match to neighbours Denn in the league on Saturday at New Inn, going down by 3-11 to 3-9.

Easter Ceremonies
Mass will be at 8pm in both Lower and Upper on Holy Thursday followed by prayer before the Altar of Repose until 10pm. Good Friday ceremonies are at 3pm. Stations of the Cross will be at 7pm in Lower and Prayers around the Cross at 8pm in Upper. The Easter Vigil Mass on Saturday night will be at 8pm in Lower and 9pm in Upper.

Work has commenced at the new facility at Killyconnan. The committee have organised a fund raising draw to take place at the beginning of May. It was a mixed weekend for the senior team in the ACFL with victory over Bailieborough on Friday night followed by a loss to Ballinagh at New Inn on Sunday. With one game remaining in the league against Belturbet they are still well in contention for promotion.
They play Kingscourt in the first round of the senior championship on Sunday, August 7 in Kingspan Breffni Park at 3.30pm.
The minor team play Cornafean in the first round of the minor championship on Tuesday, August 9 in Cornafean at 7.30pm.

Well done to Rachael Jordon and the Cavan ladies team on their win over Laois by 1-15 to 1-13 on Saturday last in the TG4 All Ireland senior championship. They will now play Cork in the quarter-final on Saturday, August 20.

Meeting will take place on Monday, August 22 at 7pm in the Community Centre. It has been arranged with a view to setting up a women’s shed in the parish. There will be a guest speaker on the night. McCabe Clan Rally
Will take place on Sunday, August 21 at 3pm in the Slieve Russell Hotel, Ballyconnell. Everyone with McCabe surname or remote association should attend this year’s special celebration. Following a talk, complimentary refreshments, exhibition of memorabilia and researcher available on the day.
Soccer
Well done to Aaron McCabe who was on the Cavan-Monaghan U15 soccer team that competed in the Galway Cup tournament last week. They played a great competition reaching the final and only lost narrowly to a Rep of Ireland development squad. Aaron got on the score sheet in a couple of the games.

Lavey Ladies annual Christmas Swim takes place Christmas Day at 12.30pm sharp at Lavey Lake and all proceeds raised are in aid of the parish defibrillator fund. The ladies are aiming to fund the installation of two defibrillators in the parish, one upper and lower, and hope to provide training for anyone wishing to learn how they work.
